She Moved Through The Fair

One of the pieces I’m most often asked to include in the wedding ceremony somewhere is She Moved Through The Fair.  Most priests are happy enough for it to be sung at either the individual candle ceremony or during the signing of the marriage register but of course, as always, check with your celebrant before including it in your order of service! I am accompanied on this piece by Aoife O’Donovan on flute. Flowers are by Carrie O’Connor of www.bestofbudsflorists.com in Tralee and photographs are by www.taradonoghuephotography.com

I’m accompanied by Eoin O’Callaghan on piano and Aoife O’Donovan on flute. The beautiful flowers in the video are by Carrie O’Connor of  Best of Buds Florist, Tralee

Singing Lessons for Ages 7-16 in Cork

I’ll be starting singing lessons for 7-16 year olds in September in Ballincollig. It will be an individual lesson with a small bit of theory and the emphasis will be on fun whilst teaching the student how to look after the voice. I’ve been singing for years, starting out in school choirs, musicals etc but this led to me damaging my voice as I had no guidance about how to look after it! When I began official voice lessons at the age of 18 I had to go backwards before I could progress so my aim is to prevent other young voices with potential from going through the same thing as I did! I am a fully qualified voice coach with a Bachelor of Music degree specialising in Vocal Performance and I will be starting a Masters in Vocal Performance in September.

After working for a number of years in different areas of design she discovered a love of fascinators and hats at Mallow College of Tailoring, Cork. Karen can custom design a fascinator to match any outfit. Take a look through her gallery on  www.karenflanneryart.com

Cork Mini Marathon Training

As some of you know I am a supporter of Make A Wish Ireland and am “running” the Mini Marathon to help to raise some funds for this amazing charity. There is an organised weekly training session starting Wednesday August 11th at 6.30pm at the North Point Business Park in Cork if anyone would like to come along and train with us. You don’t have to be running for Make A Wish – in fact you don’t have to be running the marathon at all – you can just come along and train with us. It costs €5 per session and 50% goes directly to Make A Wish with the remainder helping to cover some of the costs of the trainers. You can come and join us any Wednesday evening.
